Heart Centered Adult Therapy

I focus on providing a safe and compassionate space so that the parts of you needing support know it is safe to show up. This is especially true for the parts of you that you may dislike and the parts of you that are holding overwhelming emotions and pain. We often instinctively try to bury these parts of us in order to escape their burdens but this only increases their intensity. These parts of us need space to be witnessed so they can move through the pain and re-enter our inner world in less polarized roles.

  • Whether you have specific goals or just know you want change in your life, I enjoy working with adults experiencing a wide range of challenges such as: anxiety, depression, suicidality, self-harm, traumatic experiences or relationships, burnout, and parenting concerns.

I specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals experiencing challenges related to Autism, ADHD, or Pathological Demand Avoidance//Pervasive Drive for Autonomy. ND adults who got a diagnosis later in life often have wounds related to not getting the support they needed and deserved as a child and teen.

I love supporting adults that experienced narcissistic or borderline parents and the unique traumas that accompany this. Therapy can provide a healthy re-parenting experience and provide new templates based on compassion instead of anger.

  • Sessions are $180 and 50-53 minutes either in person in my office in Federal Way or via teletherapy in the state of WA. In person I can provide all the art supplies as well as other regulation tools. Frequency can vary from weekly to every other week depending on treatment goals and scheduling.

I love incorporating art therapy (you don’t need to be an artist!) with Internal Family Systems to collaboratively get to know and support all parts of you. This can be directive or nondirective art therapy because creativity helps the brain shift from rigidity towards flexibility and openness.

I also provide information from neuroscience to help you better understand how your body and brain work and interact with others in your life. We will explore how parts of you learned to function they way they do so we can support them in the direction of healing.

  • I am not trained in family or couples therapy, so I do not generally provide this service to adult clients.

We will however discuss how your caregivers and family of origin (the family you grew up with) impacted your identity, beliefs, and behaviors in both conscious and subconscious ways.

Children are wired to use caregivers and family members as templates for survival which can mean learning strategies that end up hurting us in the long run.

By facing where we learned the template and witnessing the pain often connected to this, therapy can help you create new patterns in your life by reparenting your inner children.
